Membership Information

Thank you for your interest in becoming a DSCA member.  We currently offer 3 types of membership.

Professional Member
($40)

Who: Full members are...
  • A professional member shall be licensed as a school counselor by the Delaware Department of Education, serve as a supervisor of school counselors, and/or serve as a school counselor educator at an institution of higher education. ​
  • Voting members

​Benefits:
  • Professional  members shall be eligible for elective office, or appointment to the Board of Directors.
  • All members shall be eligible to serve as a committee chair and/or committee member.  
  • Free/discounted professional development
  • Membership in your professional organization helps you to satisfy part of your DPAS evaluation.
  • DSCA will advocate for your needs at the local, state & national levels.
  • Networking opportunities.
  • Access to the School Counselor Directory. (Directory information is the property of DSCA for members personal use only and sharing is not permitted.)
  • Professional newsletter 3x per year.

Retiree/Student Member
($20)

Who: Retiree/ Student members are...
  • Student - A student member must be engaged in a planned program of counselor education designed to result in a degree or certification as a school counselor. ​​
  • Retiree - An individual who has been a professional member and is no longer employed full-time as a school counselor, supervisor of school counselors and/or as a counselor educator at an institution of higher learning may become a retiree member.
  • Voting members

Benefits:
  • Retiree members shall be eligible for elective office, or appointment to the Board of Directors.
  • All members shall be eligible to serve as a committee chair and/or committee member.  ​
  • Free/discounted professional development
  • Membership in your professional organization can be included on your resume.
  • Keep informed about what is going on in school counseling.
  • Networking opportunities.
  • Access to the School Counselor Directory.

Affiliate

Who: Affiliate members are...
  • Any individual interested in school counseling not eligible for any other type of membership may become an affiliate member.  ​
  • Non-voting members

  •  All members shall be eligible to serve as a committee chair and/or committee member.  
  • Free/discounted professional development for one.
  • Link to your organization on the main page of our website, if applicable.
  • DSCA does NOT share it's membership list with any organization, but we will pass along information to our members regarding your organization for affiliate members.

  3. Your membership will be active once BOTH the Membership Application (above) and payment are received.

UPDATE: DSCA will no longer be offering membership renewal through ASCA!
Effective November 20, 2015, DSCA will no longer be offering membership renewal through ASCA. DSCA memberships can be paid via check, PayPal, or with a credit card online.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please remember you MUST complete the membership form using the appropriate link at the top of the page when making payment, whether you pay by check or online.
